Doctor of Ministry/Doctor of Educational Ministry/Doctor of Education/Doctor of Philosophy

Depending upon the seminary or divinity school you attend, a student in the Doctor of Ministry/Doctor of Educational Ministry/Doctor of Education/Doctor of Philosophy program may be considered for a grant in the amount of $3,100 to $4,150 per year for up to three years. Interested students must submit the Doctor of Ministry (DMin)/Doctor of Educational Ministry (DEdMin)/Doctor of Education (EdD)/Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) application available online.  Please see the link to the application

  • Grants are available only to citizens of the United States.
  • You must be a resident of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee or West Virginia
  • Students must have lived in one of these states for a minimum of twelve months immediately prior to entering any educational institution.  You cannot establish residency while you are a student.   The Trustees reserve the right to determine residency.
  • Doctoral grants are not available for students enrolled solely in an on-line platform. Grants are available for students enrolled in the writing phase of their program, provided they were eligible to receive a Keesee grant prior to entering the writing phase of their program. STUDENTS CLASSIFIED AS ON-LINE BY THE SCHOOL ARE NOT ELIGIBLE. Students completing classes prior to entering the research/writing phase at a non-beneficiary Keesee eligible school are not eligible to apply upon entering the research/writing phase at a Keesee eligible school.  
  • The deadline for submitting an application for the Doctor of Ministry/Doctor of Educational Ministry/Doctor of Education/Doctor of Philosophy grant is May 1 for fall and spring semesters and November 1 for spring semester only.
  • Applicant must be in the Baptist ministry or have plans to be employed in Baptist ministry.  
  • Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
